Y13 Leavers Destinations 2023

All students who applied for a place at university got in!

This year we have seen a pleasing number of all students across the Partnership gain a place in an elite Russell Group institution and many more gaining a place at other highly regarded universities. We have seen students start their journey into a career in medicine and we had numerous students who have successfully moved on to higher apprenticeships and employment.

To view the destination universities for our 2023 leavers please click on any marker and the university information, with the courses our students are studying there, will be presented.

Health and Social Care Thursday 25th May 2023 – NHS Simulation Day

On the 25th May the Y12 H&SC students were given the opportunity to spend the morning at the simulation centre in the Post Graduate Centre at Stafford County Hospital. It was a fantastic experience for the students, giving hands on experience, and the sessions showed them things they wouldn’t have been able to experience through watching videos or reading books.

They delivered babies, used a mobile radiography machine to x-ray an elderly patient on the ward after he was first admitted after a fall, delivered physiotherapy to the elderly patient who was in intensive care after the fall, and did an occupational health assessment on an adult with additional needs. Here is a quote from a Stafford Manor student,

“It was a great experience which we thoroughly enjoyed and learnt a lot from”.

Criminology Monday 3rd October 2022 – Crime Scene Investigation

If doing criminology wasn’t exciting enough, we got to experience firsthand what being a detective at a crime scene is like. We got to dress up head to toe in all the ‘gear’. From a mask, to shoe covers to a white full body suit.

Mrs. Booth set the classroom up using Mavis (the mannequin) as a victim. There were pretend bullet holes leaving us to find out which one was shot first. We got to assess finger prints along with hair fibres on a t-shirt.

We got to use methods we learnt about in class to collect and preserve the evidence.
